Huxley Servers will they cope ?

I guess my biggest worry with this game is how on earth will the Huxley servers cope with anything up to 500 players on at one time :-/
I mean the graphics we are seeing are the quality of Unreal Tournament 3!
I played a fair bit of BF2 and BF2142 and when map sizes are increased and player numbers up to 64,some players start complaining of lag etc.
Will be interesting to see if they can achieve good game play for the lesser PC machines :-/

I know of older games that could handle up to 124 players at a time and this was some years back, so with the advancements in technology that we've seen over the past few years i cant see any reason for this not be do-able.

Also, apparently webzen has done some sort of nifty server optimization and other things to make it (they say) lag-free.

What you're hoping for has already been done. Sony Online Entertainment's MMOFPS "Planetside" (which Huxley has many similarities too) was able to "pop-lock" multiple maps back in it's prime, with each map supporting 200 players per faction x3. Up to 600 players per map! Waiting in queue to get in a map was quite common druing prime time, and even witnessed two maps pop-locked a few times.

Let us hope Webzen can do better than 124 players much less 64 players.. That's not "massive multiplay" in any since of the term MMO, unless the definition is being misconstrued or redifined? Speaking of servers capacity and stuff:

1. Will Huxley be able to put the "massive" in multiplayer?
2. How many players can each server support?
3. How many players can each map/zone support?
4. Is there something in place to balance player faction numbers?
5. What about +/- buffs/exp bonuses in case of unbalanced faction numbers?

I think with Huxley which makes it more interesting is the fact they are using the Unreal Tournament engine, so if they can cope with those graphics for the masses on big scale playing fields will be interesting to see :-/
